Eur Ing Selva
Selvakumaran BSc (Hons) MEng CEng MICE
Managing Director
Selva graduated from the University of Birmingham with a BSc (Hons) degree in Civil Engineering, and holds a MEng degree in Environmental Engineering from Asian Institute of Technology.
He is a Charted Engineer with over 33 years of experience in the asset delivery process in the water industry (UK and abroad) and has acquired a wide range of skills in the asset delivery cycle. He is experienced in the management of Design & Construction of water, wastewater and sewerage projects, including Programme Management, Feasibility Studies, Design, Construction, Supervision and Commissioning (Includes hands-on design).
After graduating in June 1978, Selva worked as a Design and Construction Engineer until September 1980. Since completing a Master of Engineering degree in Environmental Engineering in April 1982, he has worked in a wide range of roles including

Sakthy Selvakumaran MEng BA (Hons)
Director and Design Engineer
Sakthy is Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering graduate with a MEng BA (Hons) degree from the University of Cambridge. She was awarded an Institution of Civil Engineers QUEST Scholarship for the duration of her degree and has experience in rail-related bridge and building design as well as experience in Project Management.
Sakthy is heavily involved with Engineers Without Borders UK, formerly holding the position of Fundraising Co-ordinator and being a member of the National Executive. She later won a Vodafone World of Difference Award to work for the charity full-time. She has experience working with the Peruvian NGO PREDES (Centro de Estudios y Prevención de Desastres) in Peru on projects such as the reconstruction of housing using local building techniques following an earthquake, and structures and planning involved in landslide management. Her Masters Research project, which was affiliated with Engineers Without Borders UK and worked with Practical Action in Peru (ITDG: Soluciones Prácticas), studied structures involved in micro-hydro power generation in remote mountainous areas.
Sakthy is able to communicate in Spanish, having worked in Spanish speaking countries and having formerly worked as a translator in Madrid, translating scientific and engineering related patents and other documents and has an awareness of European patent law.
Sakthy is currently involved in providing design reviews for the company and takes on the role of Quality Assurance/Quality Control.

Mathy Selvakumaran BA (Hons) MA
Administration Co-ordinator
Mathy is a graduate student at the University of Sheffield. Currently a PhD candidate in the Department of Hispanic Studies, she also holds a BA in Hispanic Studies and Politics and an MA in Hispanic Studies, both from the University of Sheffield. Her current research looks at the politics of representing disability in Hispanic cultural production.
Mathy has a keen interest in languages, having studied Spanish for 12 years. During her Erasmus year (2010-2011) she worked as an English Language teaching assistant in a bilingual primary school in Madrid. Mathy is also well-experienced in administration, having previously completed a 3-month internship as an administrative assistant for a Sheffield-based music company. She has developed excellent teamwork, writing, and organisational skills through her work with several school and university publication teams and working committees, and also money management and business skills as Managing Director of a successful Young Enterprise company.
Mathy is a prominent campaigner for the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign's Trailblazers, and her research into disabled people and housing (undertaken as part of her final year university Politics dissertation) was published and presented in Parliament with Trailblazers. At university she has also taken on the roles of Publicist on the committees of both the University of Sheffield Singers' Society and Disabled Students Committee.
